kannen glanz


Kannen Glanz, a native of Casper, Wyoming, began his dance training at the age of five at Rising Star Tumbling and Dance Studio. In 2016, Kannen relocated to Natick, Massachusetts, to attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts under the direction of Michael Owen. While at Walnut Hill, Kannen performed repertory works by Samuel Kurkjian, Anthony Tudor, and Gerald Arpino in addition to new works by Walnut Hill faculty and guest choreographers. 

​Most recently, Kannen has spent three years studying at The Juilliard School in New York City, New York under the direction of Alicia Graf Mack where he premiered in new works by Tiler Peck, Rena Butler, and Jamar Roberts and danced in repertory works by Ohad Naharin, Trisha Brown, and Justin Peck.

In addition to his year-round training, Kannen has attended summer programs at Colorado Ballet, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Ballet Austin, Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Juilliard School, Boston Ballet, Orsolina28, and the Contemporary and Contemporary Ballet programs at The School of Jacob’s Pillow, premiering in new creations by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Jennifer Archibald, Rena Butler, Sidra Bell, and Antoine Vereecken with Studio Wayne McGregor. After his time at Jacob’s Pillow, he received the 2022 Lorna Strassler Award for Student Excellence celebrating his performance skill excellence, unwavering dedication to the arts, and vision of his role in dance.
