Ballet Basics is designed for those who may be new to ballet or for dancers with previous experience looking for a gentle reintroduction to the art form. This class introduces technique and terminology in a relaxed and approachable setting and is aimed at helping develop comfort and proficiency over time. Ballet Basics classes include barre work, stretching, and movement in the center and across the floor.
Barre Fitness is a total-body conditioning class designed to help you build strength and lean muscle through guided movement in an energizing, musically-driven setting. Each 50-minute class features low-impact, high-intensity exercises, designed to challenge and strengthen all major muscle groups. With a focus on safety and exercise modifications, Barre Fitness is accessible to all levels, whether you’re a beginner or a fitness expert.
Participants should wear socks in lieu of any footwear and bring a yoga mat for floor exercises.

Repetition is key – participants are encouraged to keep moving, have fun and release any stress or frustration through high-energy movement. This class will push your coordination and endurance and is suitable for all levels.
Conditioning is a bootcamp-style class designed to both improve cardiovascular conditioning and build functional strength. Through an alternating mix of HIIT (high-intensity interval training) components and the use of heavier weighted props (5 – 12 pounds), participants get a full-body workout driven by a playlist guaranteed to keep you moving. This class is formatted for participants to work at their own pace, allowing for appropriate, individual-based challenges.
Participants should bring a yoga mat for floor exercises.
Combining elements from modern, jazz and ballet, our adult Contemporary class explores the highly expressive and popular dance style through both technique and choreography. Students engage in warm-up and movement combinations that encourage individual interpretation often set to contemporary and pop music.
For students with a working knowledge of ballet technique and vocabulary, Intermediate Ballet offers a full, traditional ballet technique class in an environment focused on passionate adult dancers. This class is taught in a manner that adjusts to the students in the room, so a broad range of ability and experience is welcome. More advanced technique and complex combinations are introduced over time and students are encouraged to engage in each class at the pace appropriate for them.
Modern offers dancers the opportunity to explore the freedom and expression of modern dance styles while also developing proficiency in its core technical elements: contract and release, inversions, floor work and improvisation. With a focus on individual interpretation, Modern aims to develop each dancer’s versatility as well as their sense of personal artistry.
Cincinnati Ballet’s Pilates Mat class is an excellent and safe way to enhance lean strength, flexibility, posture and the overall mind-body connection. Used as an essential sculpting and conditioning tool by professional dancers, Pilates focuses on developing core strength with low impact to reduce risk of injury while building overall fitness. This class is open to all levels.
Participants should bring their own yoga mat to each class. Mats are also available for purchase at our Welcome Center.
