The Advanced Division is the pinnacle of pre-professional training within the Otto M. Budig Academy aimed at preparing students for future careers in dance or collegiate pursuits. Advanced Division students continue to refine their technical knowledge and capacity while exploring their unique gifts as a performing artist. Faculty mentorship becomes more regular as students consider their personal goals in dance.

ABOUT ADVANCED DIVISION A
Advanced Division A builds in intensity and focus as students consider potential career or collegiate goals in dance. Students at this level dive even more deeply into artistic style and refinement while building their technical versatility with classes in other dance disciplines including Conditioning, Contemporary and Modern. Advanced Division A students participate in classes five times per week and have the option to engage in additional elective classes. Advanced Division A students participate in the annual Spring Production and may be eligible to audition for select Company productions.
Advanced Division A students are enrolled in the course schedule below. Enrollment is for the full Academy Year (August – May). Eligibility for Advanced Division A is by placement only. All classes take place in person at the Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance.

ABOUT ADVANCED DIVISION B
Advanced Division B is the final level in the Academy’s pre-professional training programs, aimed at preparing students technically and artistically for success in professional division programs, traineeships, or collegiate-level dance. Students at this level are well-versed in a multitude of styles through the study of other dance disciplines including Conditioning, Contemporary and Modern. Advanced Division B students participate in classes five times per week and have the option to engage in additional elective classes. Advanced Division B students participate in the annual Spring Production and may be eligible to audition for select Company productions.

*Students may select between the tank and long-sleeve leotards. Advanced Division students participating in Community Division electives may wear their AD Academy Uniform for classes.
