Giovanny Garibay was born in Centralia, WA and began training at the age of 12. He was exposed to dance through Centralia Ballet Academy and continued his training at Johansen’s Olympia Dance Center. In 2019 he was awarded first place at YAGP Seattle in the Men’s senior division and was invited to compete at YAGP NYC finals. From 2019-2022 Giovanny attended the San Francisco Ballet School under the direction of Patrick Armand and has performed in company productions such as Helgi Tomason’s The Nutcracker and Alexei Ratmansky’s The Seasons. Giovanny then joined The Joffrey Ballet studio company for their 2022/2023 season. Giovanny will be joining Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company for their 2023/2024 season.
