CB MOVES


CB Moves is designed to foster a love of dance and creative expression for individuals with specific needs. With curriculum designed in consultation with the Division of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at Cincinnati Children’s, we offer a variety of classes for students from age four through young adults. Led by qualified faculty and experienced physical therapists, our CB Moves team is deeply committed to safely supporting all participants as they explore the rich benefits of movement, music and a highly engaged student community.

Open to students ages 4 – young adult. Placement assessment required for all participants.

CB Moves Family Dance Days

This summer, we’re excited to announce the return of Family Dance Days for our CB Moves students, an opportunity for current participants to stay engaged over the summer and for newly interested families to try out this program in a fun environment. Family Dance Days are designed for a student and an adult to dance together and will be led by our excellent team of CB Moves faculty. We hope you’ll join us to explore the rich benefits of movement, music and a highly engaged student community!

CB Moves for parkinson’s

In addition to our CB Moves youth programming, Cincinnati Ballet is thrilled to introduce a specialized class series designed specifically for persons with Parkinson’s.

About CB Moves Classes: CB Moves classes run for 20 weeks beginning in October and concluding in April. Classes prioritize the safe exploration of movement and musicality for the benefit of each student’s personal and social growth and are structured to support students based on the resources best suited to their specific needs.

Placement: CB Moves students are placed in class groups through an assessment process done in partnership with Cincinnati Children’s that’s designed to determine which resources students need to be most successful in the studio.

Classroom Resources:

  • Visual supports
  • Social narratives
  • State-of-the-art lift system to support mobility device users
  • Quiet space
  • Personalized volunteer support

Performance Participation: Optional performance participation in the Community Division Celebration.

Location: All classes take place in person at the Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance.

Payment plans are available. Families in need of financial support are invited to contact the Academy at cbacademy@cballet.org to request a financial aid application.

REGISTRATION


New students are invited to complete the questionnaire below so we can guide you to the best class option for your student. Returning students will receive their class placement and registration material at the beginning of the Academy Year. If you have any questions about Cincinnati Ballet’s CB Moves programs, please contact us at cbacademy@cballet.org.
