COMMUNITY DIVISION


The Otto M. Budig Academy is thrilled to launch the Community Division which introduces a whole new suite of programming featuring expanded flexibility and diverse class options for students ages 10 – 17. The program’s structure is designed to support students who may be interested in a single class as an enhancement to other pursuits or who are looking to design a more individualized course schedule. Featured classes include a wide array of dance styles from contemporary and modern to musical theater and ballet.

OPEN TO STUDENTS AGES 10-17 AS OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2021.

Throughout November and December, Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy invites new students to join us as we embark on our historic 2021-2022 Season!

Community Division Classes

About Community Division Classes

Community Division classes are open to all students ages 10 – 17 desiring to explore unique dance styles, requiring more flexible class schedules or seeking to augment their training with additional courses. Community Division students have the option to perform in the Academy’s Community Division celebration and may be eligible to audition for select Company productions.

Students may enroll in a single class or multiple based on their goals or objectives. Formal placement is not required. Enrollment is for the full Academy Year (September – May). All classes take place in person at the Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance.

  • Ballet pink or flesh-toned convertible tights (Ballet classes)
  • Ballet pink or flesh-toned ballet slippers (Ballet classes)
  • Black tights, jazz pants or shorts (Contemporary, Jazz, Modern & Musical Theater classes)
  • Black jazz shoes (Jazz & Musical Theater classes)
  • Hair pulled back and neatly secured
  • No jewelry or accessories
  • Face mask or covering  

BOYS

  • Boys Academy Dance Shirt in White
  • Black tights or leggings (Ballet classes)
  • White socks (Ballet classes)
  • White ballet shoes (Ballet classes)
  • Black tights, jazz pants or shorts (Contemporary, Jazz, Modern & Musical Theater classes)
  • Black jazz shoes (Jazz & Musical Theater classes)
  • Hair neatly styled and away from face
  • Face mask or covering

*Preparatory, Young Dancer & Advanced Division students participating in Community Division classes may wear their PD, YD or AD Academy leotard for classes.
