Ava Wease began dancing at the age of two at her mother’s studio, Valley Dance Theatre, in Staunton, Virginia, where she trained in a wide range of dance styles. At fourteen, she moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, to join the Professional Division of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School; where she performed the role of Clara in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s The Nutcracker. At sixteen, she continued her training at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, performing leading roles in repertoire spanning classical, neoclassical, Balanchine, and modern works, including George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and Concerto Barocco, Paul Taylor’s Esplanade, and Alan Hineline’s Sleeping Beauty. Ava is excited to begin her professional career as a member of Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company and looks forward to the opportunities and growth this season will bring.
