Jessica He, a native of Rancho Cucamonga, California, began her ballet training at the Inland Pacific Ballet Academy in Montclair, California. Her talent quickly flourished, leading her to join the pre-professional program at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia on full scholarship in 2012. Jessica then joined Houston Ballet II from 2015-2017, and subsequently became a company dancer with Atlanta Ballet for the 2017/18 season.
In the span of her 9 year career with Atlanta Ballet, she performed a wide range of featured soloist and principal roles with the company. Some favorites include Balanchine’s “Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux”, “Serenade”, and “Who Cares?”, Liam Scarlett’s “Vespertine” and world premiere “Catch”, “Peasant Pas” in Giselle, “Kitri’s Friend” in Don Quixote, Kiyon Ross’ “Sum Stravinsky”, Jiri Kylian’s “Return to a Strange Land”, Justin Peck’s “In Creases”, and Lar Lubovitch’s “Elemental Brubeck”. Jessica received recognition as one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2019. For the past two summers, Jessica has also danced with the Traverse City Dance Project in Traverse City, Michigan, performing on tour with the summer company and bringing dance to less accessible communities in northern Michigan. She is very excited to be joining Cincinnati Ballet this coming season and is looking forward to new opportunities and experiences!
