Meet CB Monday

With David Morse

Morse 1411 1David joined Cincinnati Ballet in the 2016-2017 Season and was promoted to Soloist for the 2017-2018 Season. In addition to being a professional dancer, David is also an accomplished pianist.

What’s your favorite role you’ve ever danced?

Hands down, the principal man in William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated. I’ve never felt more powerful on stage! It was the thrill of a lifetime!

What do you eat for breakfast?

My wife Tina and I are big meal prep people so we make a huge frittata on Sundays! It’s so easy to just cut a slice and reheat it before morning class. We also usually make a smoothie with lots of fruit, ginger, flax, chia, or whatever sounds good that day. Oh, and we can’t forget coffee!

How long have you been dancing?

I started dancing when I was 5 so about 21 years! Professionally for 10.

What are you watching right now?

We just finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, we pretty much always have Frasier on loop, we are big Downton Abbey fans, we love Sherlock. We’re always looking for something new. Recommendations welcome!

What’s your favorite bar/restaurant in Cincinnati?

It’s tough to pick since there’s so much great food in Cincinnati, but I’d probably have to say Boca. It’s always our go to for special occasions. The atmosphere, the service, the fantastic food. It’s all superb!

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

I love both cats and dogs but we’re definitely a cat household right now. The lord and lady of our castle are Sebastian and Willow.
