Christian Renforth joined the Cincinnati Ballet corps de ballet in 2017. This year in The Nutcracker, he will be playing the roles of Mouse King, Spanish, and parlor guest, and for the first time he is learning the role of Snow King.
How long have you been dancing?
Long before I even remember. Three I think…
Why did you become a dancer?
I kept running around my parents’ house as a kid singing Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire songs and I refused to join my brothers soccer team. In all seriousness think the real reason I decided to stick with it and drive to be a professional is because, for me, it’s the clearest way to express myself.
Who, or what, was your biggest teacher?
My biggest inspiration was my teacher, Arnott Mader. He danced with Dame Margot Fonteyn at the Royal Ballet and was the men’s teacher for the School at Richmond Ballet.
If you had to eat one thing for every meal going forward, what would it be?
That’s easy, Sour Patch Kids WATERMELON!
What’s your secret talent?
I’ve got a decent impression of the Cowardly Lion from the Judy Garland Movie.
What is your most-used emoji?

Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Dogs all the way. I have two beautiful pooches in my life, Leonidas and Beauregard
