Cincinnati Ballet is excited to open the new Margaret and Michael Valentine Center for Dance to the community for an inviting introduction to ballet and dance performance. These performances are designed to welcome new audiences to dance through accessible storytelling, relatable themes, fun choreography, and community partnerships. Join us at the new Center for Dance on select Sunday afternoons with your family and friends for these hour-long performances.
Classical ballet stories have the most heroic characters and some of their greatest foils. Join our Professional Training Division dancers as they dance the repertoire of ballet’s legendary and dramatic characters including the Lilac Fairy and Carabosse from The Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan and Captain Hook from Peter Pan, Odette and Odile from Swan Lake, and Alice and the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.
The material for this production was created using the academic standards for third to fifth grade students. The performance is appropriate for ages 5 and up.
The wit and wisdom of Aesop’s Fables is one of our most treasured literary traditions. Laugh and learn alongside our dancers as they transform into the animals and creatures inspired by Aesop’s poignant stories of character and relationship. This performance brings to life the tales of one of the world’s most masterful storytellers in a new and exciting way.
