Ciarán Barlow

Ciaran Barlow was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He started dancing at age 6 with Irish Step dancing before starting ballet at age 12 with the Dallas Ballet Center. While he attended Booker T. Washington High school for the Performing Arts, he was a trainee with Avant Chamber Ballet. At Booker T. Washington HSPVA Ciaran got many opportunities to work with choreographers like Durante Verzola, Alice Klock and Florian Lochner —while also getting to learn and perform iconic works like Paul Taylor’s Esplanade. His years at Avant Chamber Ballet expanded his classical repertoire where he performed soloist roles in original works choreographed by Katie Puder, and soloist roles in ballets like Raymonda, Napoli and The Nutcracker. After graduating from Booker T. Washington HSPVA with the school’s Excellence in Ballet Award in 2022, Ciaran joined Cincinnati Ballet’s Professional Training Division as a trainee. During his time as a trainee, he was featured in multiple company productions like Victoria Morgan’s The Nutcracker, Septime Webre’s ALICE in Wonderland, Anna Marie-Holmes’ Don Quixote and George Balanchine’s Jewels. Ciaran is beyond ecstatic to be dancing as part of Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company, where he looks forward to continuing to work and grow alongside the company.
