Internationally-acclaimed Cuban artist Irene Rodríguez leads a demonstration class in the Sheakley Premier Studio. Rodríguez, who is featured on Program 1 of the Bold Moves Festival, has more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, choreographer, and performer of the Spanish Dance and Flamenco style. Rodríguez will introduce the audience to this powerful and passionate genre of dance.

In 2006, Lorena founded MujerLatinaToday.com to empower the Hispanic/Latino community. Since 2017, she has worked with Prokids on custody, neglect, and abuse cases involving Hispanic/Latino families. Additionally, she hosts Lorena Today on Apple Podcasts, volunteers with Latina leadership groups in Ohio, and collaborates with local businesses and organizations to amplify the Hispanic voice.

Garrett is a visionary artist known for his unique blend of classical and contemporary dance styles that push beyond the boundaries of convention. His choreography is known for its compelling and emotionally charged movements, which engage audiences on a deep and meaningful level.
DANSEUR is an award-winning documentary that addresses exactly what it is like to be a boy in ballet. Told through the first-person accounts of nearly two-dozen DANSEURs, it tells the sometimes gut-wrenching stories of what it is like to be gender stereotyped, bullied, and outcast in pursuit of your dreams.
After the screening, enjoy a Q and A with the filmmaker Scott Gormley and former and current Cincinnati Ballet dancers.

This is an immersive sensory experience where each screen depicts the Festival’s six works told through one of the five senses of the body – touch, smell, hearing, sight, and taste. This installation will engage your senses and take you on a bold journey through the human experience.
