Principal Dancer, Philadelphia Ballet

YUKA ISEDA


Yuka Iseda received her early training at Ecole de Ballet “PUCK” in Tokyo. Prior to Philadelphia Ballet, she danced professionally at Dresden Semperoper Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Barcelona Ballet, and Ballet Carmen Roche in Madrid. She joined Philadelphia Ballet for the 2016-2017 Season as a member of the corps de ballet, was promoted to Soloist for the 2018-2019 Season, to First Soloist for the 2019-2020 Season and to Principal Dancer in December 2021.

She has danced principal roles in numerous ballets including Angel Corella’s Le CorsaireSwan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, La Bayadère, Sleeping Beauty, and Coppelia, Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Western Symphony, Apollo, Concerto Barocco, Symphony in C, Divertimento, Ballet Imperial, and Who Cares?, as well as works by Nacho Duato, Jiří Kylián, Jerome Robbins, Christopher Wheeldon, Juliano Nunes, Jorma Elo, David Dawson, Alexander Ekman, Matthew Neenan, Helen Pickett, Garrett Smith, Andrew Winghart, and Tony Fabre.
