Opening night of The Kaplan New Works Series is almost here! This year’s New Works Series features four world premieres by internationally acclaimed choreographers, including Yoshihisa Arai, Andonis Foniadakis, Andrea Giselle Schermoly, and the return of Caroline Dahm for a second consecutive season.
Along with Dahm, costume designer Eliana Batsakis is returning for the 2025-2026 New Works Series. Batsakis—a Cincinnati native, will create costumes for Arai, Dahm, and Schermoly. Working alongside Paris-based Greek designer Anastasios Sofroniou, who will design costumes for Foniadakis’ piece.

Batsakis originally worked with Cincinnati Ballet for the 2024-2025 New Works Series. She is a fashion designer, artist, and educator. Founder of her eponymous fashion brand, which has been recognized by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, she received the CFDA Design Scholar Suntchi Image-Maker Award in 2020 and was featured in the CFDA’s 2021 Fashion Future Graduate Showcase. Batsakis was a contestant on Season 2 of Netflix’s Next in Fashion, hosted by Tan France & Gigi Hadid. Her work has been featured in Vanity Fair and in 2024 earned a spot on Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Cincinnati.
