Cincinnati Ballet Thrives With The Help Of Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant

May 12th, 2023

The Transformative Power of Dance

The power of movement and dance is undoubtedly essential to human life. It serves as a universal language that connects individuals across borders, transcending differences that would otherwise divide us. For the past two decades, Cincinnati Ballet has been at the forefront of expressing this language through exceptional productions that seamlessly blend classical and contemporary elements. We are humbled by the role we have played in bringing this unique artistic vision to generations of Ohioans, and we know that our ability to do so is due, in large part, to the generous support of Ohio arts funding and community donations.

Ohio State Supports Arts Organizations, Including Cincinnati Ballet with $23 Million Funding

The State of Ohio has allocated $23 million in funding to support arts organizations like ours, as part of the Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant Program’s first round. A total of 139 organizations across 35 counties will receive grants, and we are grateful and honored to be among the outstanding arts organizations receiving this funding.

With this support, Cincinnati Ballet will be able to continue pursuing its mission of enriching the cultural life of our community, delivering world-class performances, and offering accessible education programs for everyone. The funding we received will positively impact these focus areas by enabling us to reach more audience members, schools, and other communities throughout the entire region.

What is the ohio arts economic relief grant program?

The Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant Program was created to provide grants to Performing Arts Organizations or operators of Cultural Arts Museums in the state of Ohio. The grants can be used to defray the organization’s or operator’s operating expenses.

“Ohio’s arts communities are an integral part of why Ohio stands out as a great place to live and a great place to visit,” said Governor DeWine. “These grants will help ensure that communities continue to have access to the programming and learning experiences Ohioans love.”

The grant program was created in partnership with the Ohio General Assembly as part of  a bill sponsored by Sen. George Lang (R-West Chester) which was later merged into House Bill 45.

Cincinnati Ballet’s Promise to Inspire and Transform the cincinnati arts community

The Ohio Arts Council’s funding is a testament to the evolving role that art plays in our community. Art offers a way for people to communicate their ideas, experiences, and stories; fostering unity and inspiring creativity in those who engage with them. Cincinnati Ballet would like to thank the State of Ohio for its unwavering support of the arts in our community. As part of our commitment to the Cincinnati community, we promise to continue nurturing its cultural landscape. We will do this by delivering breathtaking and inspiring performances, as well as offering world-class programs for all ages and abilities. In everything we do, we strive to be creative, innovative, inclusive, and engaging, building a community that fosters, appreciates, and celebrates creativity, artistry, and talent.

We soar because of your support and because of this, it will enable us to transform lives, inspire dreams, and expand horizons through Cincinnati Ballet’s innovative programs and performances.
