Since 1963, Cincinnati Ballet’s core mission has been to share the power of dance to both local and global communities. Your generosity is critical to the success of our mission.
What you may not know is ticket sales account for only about 30% of the Cincinnati Ballet’s annual operating budget. Nearly three-fourths of the funds it takes to operate the Ballet come from donors and other charitable giving.
Without you, our loving patrons and donors, the art we create would not be possible. Without you, we would be not be able to present world-class ballets and world premieres, to collaborate with other artists and ballet companies, to spark the love of dance in young students and to provide high-caliber training to future generations. Education is at the core of Cincinnati Ballet’s mission. Donations to Academy + Education can help provide scholarships to our Otto M. Budig Academy, specific program support to programs like CincyDance! and CB Moves, educational experiences in and out of the classroom, and much more. At Cincinnati Ballet, we truly believe that music is the lifeblood of dance, and we are proud to be one of the few ballet companies nationwide that still performs with a live orchestra. We know that live music inspires a special vitality that audiences can see in the energy of our dancers and can feel throughout the entire hall – from stage to pit to audience. The cost of that commitment is substantial and can only be met with the help of generous donors who value LIVE performance as much as we do here at Cincinnati Ballet.
With the generous support of two sisters, Anne Romanoff Ilyinsky and Paula Ilyinsky Comisar, Cincinnati Ballet has established an invested fund in honor of Artistic Director, Victoria Morgan’s 25th Anniversary Season and career achievements as a champion of women choreographers and artists.
Cincinnati Ballet is among the few ballet companies in the country to have a named fund designed and dedicated to hire and attract women choreographers and artists, The Victoria Morgan Women’s Choreographer and Artist Fund will enable Cincinnati Ballet to annually draw funds to support a featured woman choreographer or artist.
While she may be concluding her remarkable tenure as Cincinnati Ballet’s artistic director, Victoria plans to stay active and committed to the artform she so dearly loves.
