Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company – CB2 presents a mixed repertoire featuring Not Yet by Shane Urton, Sudo Purge by Chiaki Horita, and More than there ever was by Brice Asnar in Cincinnati Ballet’s intimate Sheakley Premier Studio. Tickets are free or patrons may elect to contribute what they wish. Seating is limited.

Shane Urton is an American choreographer and dancer based in Belgium. As a choreographer he has pursued the craft at every stage of his performing career. Given the range of dance makers Shane has been exposed to, he pulls from various methods, styles, and artistic insights to inform his own creative language. He is drawn to the intersections of choreography, dance theater, music and soundscape, spoken word and literature, visual arts and the sciences. His most recent work Logophile participated in the Rotterdam International Duet Choreographic Competition 2024. He has been invited to create works for Repertory Dance Theater’s 23/24 season, Terminus Modern Ballet Theater’s 24/25 season, & Columbia Repertory Ballet’s Spring Gala 2024. In 2025 Shane will premiere a new creation with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.

Brice Asnar began his training at the École nationale supérieure de danse de Marseille Roland Petit / Pietragalla. He later furthered his studies at the Royal Ballet Upper school in London.Upon graduating at the Royal ballet school, Brice was offered an apprenticeship with the Northern Ballet, in Leeds (England). After a year, he moved back to London to join the English National Ballet. In 2011, Brice joined the Staatsballett Karlsruhe in Germany where he performed many classical ballet roles such as Blue bird (sleeping beauty) Pas de quatre (Swan lake) by Christopher Wheeldon & created neo classical & contemporary roles such as Orpheus, Siegfried, In Den Winden Im Nicht by Heinz Spoerli to mention a few. In 2015, Brice joined Ballett Am Rhein in Düsseldorf as a soloist, under the direction of Martin Schläpfer. He has daBrice has since 2021, been teaching, given workshops and choreographed in Europe & the USA.

Chiaki Horita was born in Japan 1989. She studied at the Ikemoto Ballet School in Hiroshima, Japan and then completed a traineeship at Jo Kanamori’s company, Noism. She later joined Nederland Dans Theatre ll from 2008-2011 and then the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani from 2011-2014. Joined Batsheva Ensemble in 2015 and Batsheva Dance Company in 2018-2024. She is a certified Gaga teacher.
