As Patron Engagement Manager for Cincinnati Ballet, Lauren Moore heads up a dedicated staff of six that handles hundreds of customer interactions each month, from answering questions about the ballet to selling subscriptions, exchanging tickets, and so much more. She is the first impression our more than 70,000 patrons encounter, and exceptional customer service is the cornerstone of all she does.
Lauren grew up in Northern Kentucky, danced for 10 years starting at the age of three, and has worked in customer service positions at Target and other P&G-related companies for more than five years.
How long have you been with Cincinnati Ballet?
I just celebrated my one year anniversary last month.
What do you like most about working at Cincinnati Ballet?
The people! From day one, everyone at the ballet has treated me like family.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy talking to subscribers that have been attending the ballet for so many years. Last week, I chatted with a woman who had been a subscriber for almost 40 years! We are SO lucky to have patrons like her.
What is the busiest time of year for you job-wise, and why?
Right around The Nutcracker, of course! The city of Cincinnati LOVES Nutcracker, and many make it an annual tradition. I’m pretty festive myself, so I don’t mind all of the hustle and bustle as long as it involves some holiday cheer.
Who from a business standpoint do you look up to as a role model for what you do?
While she isn’t in the same business field as I am, I really look up to the owner of the yoga studio that I attend. Her name is Nikki and she is absolutely incredible. She is such a hard worker and she always has a positive attitude. Nikki has created a thriving community within the walls of her studio, and we all attempt to do that at Cincinnati Ballet, too.
What do you do in your spare time?
When I get some time to relax, I’m really into yoga. I also bought a home less than a mile from my parents, and I really love to work on crafts projects around the house. I also have a silver Labrador Retriever puppy that I adore!
What are you looking forward to in the season ahead?
- I’m really excited about the challenge of taking on a new team.
- I’m also going to get to work with CBYP (Cincinnati Ballet Young Patrons) group.
- I can’t wait to see Peter Pan and hear Carmon DeLeone’s original score. I’ve heard so many good things about it!
