Keelan Whitmore


Guest Artist and Coordinator for Diversity and Dance Education, Tanz Münster

Keelan Whitmore is a native of Rockford, Illinois, and received his training at Rockford Dance Company and Joffrey Ballet School/New School University. He also graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan and the St. Mary’s College L.E.A.P. Program, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance and the Dean’s Professional Student Award.

As a member of Kansas City Ballet from 2001 to 2006, Whitmore danced works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Nacho Duato, Jerome Robbins and Twyla Tharp. In 2006, Whitmore became a member of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, with whom he performed at the Kennedy Center and traveled to the Edinburgh International Festival.

Keelan has worked as a choreographer and dance educator for many years. His work has been featured in workshops and gala performances at Kansas City Ballet, Virginia School of the Arts, LINES Ballet Educational Programs, Tanz Theater and Junges Theater Münster, Austin Paey University, and Regional Dance America.

Keelan co-founded the Kansas City-based multidisciplinary ensemble Quixotic Fusion. He danced with Alonzo King LINES Ballet from 2006 to 2013 and as a soloist with TanzTheater Münster under the direction of Hans Henning Paar from 2014 to 2021. For the 2022-2023 season, he will be on stage as a guest dancer with Tanz Münster as well as taking over the position of coordinator for diversity and dance education.
