“My parents put me in dance when I was four. They thought I would enjoy it because I danced around the house a lot,” says Thalman. They were right. Thalman has trained with M and M Dance Academy, The Ballet School for the Zurich Opera House, Atelier Rainbow Tanzkunst in Switzerland, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Graduate program, graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school program and taken summer intensives with Point Park University and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. “My favorite memory of dance is when I first performed the snow scene in Terrance Orr’s The Nutcracker,” she says. “I grew up watching the company perform and I never thought I would actually be up there with them. It was a beautiful and surreal moment.” Thalman joined the Second Company in 2014 as a Trainee and looks forward to returning as a CBII for the 1516 Season.
