Kristin Smith began dancing at the age of three at the Classical Ballet North School in Kansas City, Missouri. She later started dancing at the Kansas City Ballet School and attended summer intensives at Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet and Houston Ballet. Smith was then invited to stay year-round at the Houston Ballet Academy, where she graduated in 2014. She most recently danced as a trainee with the Kansas City Ballet for the past two seasons, where she had the opportunity to dance in classical ballets such as Swan Lake and Giselle. During this time, Smith was coached by the KCB second company manager, and former Cincinnati Ballet dancer, Anthony Krutzkamp to perform the role of Nikiya in the Kansas City Youth Ballet’s production of La Bayadere.
