Jace Pauly

New Dancer | Wenatchee, Washington | Joined Cincinnati Ballet in 2020

Jace Pauly was born in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and began his dance training with Melissa Miller-Port in Wenatchee, Washington. He then trained under Michael Owen, Denise Lewis and Russell Clarke at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where he graduated with honors in 2015.  He then joined Atlanta Ballet 2 under the direction of Gennadi Nedvigin and Sharon Story, performing alongside the main company as well as on national tours. Most recently, Jace performed in Oklahoma City Ballet where he danced roles such as Jonathan Harker in Michael Pink’s Dracula and Benvolio in Robert Mills’ Romeo and Juliet, among other corps and soloist roles. Since childhood, Jace has loved traveling around the world, hiking and camping, as well as practicing any type of movement and cooking. He is ecstatic to join Cincinnati Ballet and can’t wait to meet the audience and patrons.  

Touchet will never forget her 19th birthday. That was the day Victoria Morgan came to Pacific Northwest Ballet, to audition Touchet’s professional division. “Directors from everywhere auditioned us, but nobody ever picked me,” she says. “I remember thinking she wouldn’t like me anyway, so I told myself to just have fun, and after it was over, she said, ‘I’d like to talk to Janessa’.” Crossed wires with communicating Touchet’s acceptance of Morgan’s apprenticeship offer led to a planned spot with Memphis Ballet, but Morgan called one last time and Touchet was able to come to Cincinnati Ballet instead. “It was meant to be here. I started as an Apprentice and moved all the way through the ranks. I had always had my heart and mind set on Cincinnati Ballet.”
