Chelsea Thronson is from Spokane, WA. She trained privately under the direction of Brooke Nicholson, Ceci Klein, and Sandra Olgard. She was a semi-finalist in the Prix de Lausanne and placed 2nd at the YAGP semi-finals in 2015 and 2016 before she joined the PNB Professional Division program in 2016. While at PNB she danced in company productions of George Balanchine’s Symphony in C, Stravinsky Violin Concerto, and The Nutcracker, and Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake. In PNB School productions she danced highlighted roles in Christopher Wheeldon’s Scenes de Ballet, Jerome Robbins’ Fanfare, Bruce Wells’ Snow White, and George Balanchine’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. While at PNB, she had the opportunity to dance on exchange at the Dresden Semperoper Ballet in Swan Lake as a guest apprentice and at the Paris Opera Ballet School. Chelsea has also originated featured roles in works by Kyle Davis, Nancy Casciano, and Christopher D’Ariano in PNB’s Next Step program.
