As we celebrate Women’s History Month, it is the perfect opportunity to look into the past, present, and future of Cincinnati Ballet. With a rich history spanning more than 50 years, Cincinnati Ballet has a long legacy of honoring and celebrating women for their contributions both on and off the stage. From its inception in 1958 as the Cincinnati Civic Ballet to its current name change in 1982 to Cincinnati Ballet, this esteemed organization has been led by numerous exceptional female directors, choreographers, dancers, and alumni who have led exemplary careers on and off stage.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month it is clear that the past, present, and future of Cincinnati Ballet are due in no small part to the powerful women who have helped shape this amazing company over generations. From Victoria Morgan’s achievements, Suzette Boyer Webb’s and Dale Shield’s guidance, to Jodie Gates’ innovative and bold visions for the company, these women are all responsible for helping create something truly special that will continue to inspire audiences worldwide for generations to come!
